Private Pilot License (PPL) details

FAA Minimums

17 years old

At least a 3rd class medical

40 hours of Total Flight Time consisting of:

20 hours of training with an instructor

10 hours solo flight

5 hours solo cross-country

3 hours night flight

3 hours instrument instruction

 

Knowledge (Written) Test

Oral & Flight evaluation by Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE)

 

Course Length depends on YOU. Average time ~ 4-6 months

Instrument Rating (IR) details

FAA Minimums

At least a 3rd class medical

No minimum Total Flight Hours

Must have at least:

15 hours of training with Instructor

50 hours Cross-Country PIC

40 hours Instrument training

 

Knowledge (Written) Test

Oral & Flight evaluation by Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE)

 

Course Length depends on YOU. Average time ~ 3-4 months

commercial Pilot License (cPL) details

FAA Minimums

18 years old

At least a 3rd class medical

250 hours of Total Flight Time consisting of:

20 hours of training with an instructor

100 hours of PIC time

10 hours of Instrument training

10 hours of Complex or TAA time

10 hours of Solo time

 

Knowledge (Written) Test

Oral & Flight evaluation by Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE)

 

Course Length depends on YOU. Average time ~ 6-8 months

high performance endorsement (hp) details

Minimum of 5 hours of training in a High Performance Aircraft

Flight Review details

Minimum of 1 hour flight & 1 hour of ground
